Dermot is currently hosting X Factor for ITV1.  The start of 2008 saw Dermot fronting E4’s new Celebrity Big Brother Hijack and  BBLB for a three week run, his last show for a very successful seven year run!  Dermot spends his Saturday afternoon’s presenting The Dermot O’Leary Show on Radio 2 from 2 – 5pm, having cut his teeth on XFM a few years ago.  

Comic Relief last year saw Dermot hosting a celebrity Comic Relief does Car Booty with Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and Alan Titchmarsh to name but a few. He also reported from Costa Rica on the plight of the Leatherback Turtle for Extinct, ITV1.  In 2006 Dermot fronted the music extravaganza UK Music Hall Of Fame with live performances from legends such as James Brown, Brian Wilson and Bon Jovi.

Diversity is Dermot’s strength, spending the early part of his career as a researcher, he went on to establish the hugely successful T4 for Channel 4. Some of his credits include fronting three series of SAS Are You Tough Enough? for BBC2,  1v100 and Born To Win for BBC1, Re:Covered for BBC3, Some Of My Best Friends Are… Catholic and Shattered  both for Channel 4 and  Re:Covered, a music show for BBC3,  winner of a RTS award and nominated for a Montreaux Rose. He also presented Dermot’s Sporting Buddies for BBC3 which was made by Murfia, his own production company.

When Dermot has some spare time, he loves anything marine-based like sea fishing and surfing or you may see him out on his newly acquired Royal Enfield motorbike!
