Just say hello...

The site is live and I'm really scared that no one is going to say anything. So here's a great way to start, just pop in here and say hello and tell me what your favourite tv show is. Please?

Hi Shaz, welcome to RTS Futures! That's a pretty eclectic collection of shows!

The weird thing is, whenever i think about my favourite show, i just can't think, I tend to watch more one off specials, or docs, but i did love 'Meet the Natives'. Also am very into studio shows such as 8 out of ten cats. Plus for own pleasure i guess Big Bro and ugly betty, i love how americanised it is, and the elaborate storylines!

Ben, your secret love of Time Team is just between us, we won't tell. I now have a sudden craving to watch Fawlty Towers!
Kate, it's tricky to chose a favourite show isn't it? I can spend hours debating what's my favourite, what's the best, what's the most entertaining and they're all different every time I think about it!

Hi Lorna, i think i'd have to say This Life for my all time favourite drama (UK) and probably The X Files/Six Feet Under (US). Comedy - i would have to say Fawlty Towers! On television now, the all conquering Heroes gets the vote closely followed by The Tribe (Bruce Parry is a legend). I'll also watch reruns of Time Team but i don't like to admit that to just anyone!

Hi Lorna and everyone else! I can't really decide what my favourite tv show is.. loved Life on Mars earlier this year.. but my favourite of all time would have to be the League of Gentlemen I think!

I read that the last 5 episodes were the best of the seies. I've sort of trailed off with Studio 60 as I've been working/ away on Thursdays for a while, and forgetting about the repeats... but I mean to get back into it.

Shows named after Bowie songs may be good, but let's not get into reality TV contestants just yet.... I'm just upset the archaeology one I've read about from the writers doesn't have one. Then again, it may be pushing the point somewhat to call it "Golden Years" or similar.

True enough - I read an interview with Damon Lindelof, one of the Lost creators, in which he claimed that they had worked out different versions of the story - they had always pitched for 6 series, and had a story that span out for that length, but they also had 4 series and 5 series versions up their sleeve in case they were cancelled!

Hi Matt! Sorry to hear about the spam filtering issues everyone is having, not sure what I can do about that but I'll investigate. It's a difficult decision watching a show you know has been cancelled. The good thing is that Studio 60 at least had warning it was being cancelled so they did manage to wrap things up without leaving a cliff hanger.

Hi, like Judith I was getting spam filtered and am now up and running. And Judith, all shows named after Bowie songs have to have good soundtracks, surely? :-)

Favourite show on telly at the moment might be Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, but it is bittersweet what with it being cancelled in the States and I hear that it goes downhill later in the series as the network began to meddle...
