+1 channels and Sky+
The bbc website currently has a poll up asking whether people "find 'plus one' services like Channel 4+1 useful?". As I type the results are 82% "yes, I always miss shows" and 18% "No, watch it first time". Are you surprised by those numbers, do you expect more people to be using Sky+ and similar services for more control over scheduling?

Louisa, why do you think people who read the BBC News website don't have Sky+? Just curious.. |

It doesn't surprise me that 82% said yes. I myself am always using ITV2 +1 and E4+1 to catch up on programs or to watch programs at a time thats most convenient for me. But I'm not sure what the shelf life of these services will be. It seems to me that they're only going to be a stepping stone from main stream TV to future 'on demand' services. |

Louisa: I'd love to see further breakdowns on the bbc website polls. I always find myself wanting a third option ;0) |

I think the % would be high for "yes, I always miss shows" because it's the BBC and most people probably don't have Sky+ who visit the BBC website. It would be very interesting to see the demo breakdown of the poll. As awareness grows I'm sure the results would be more 50/50. Out of choice I think people would prefer to Sky+ a show to watch when they like and as Ally says to forward through ads rather than watching an hour later. |

Definitely, especially as you are given the ability to forward through ads... |
