Each June, TV buyers from every country descend on LA to snap up future hit shows. ­Inside the LA Screenings will give RTS Future members an insider’s view into what goes on at the industry’s most glamorous and important marketplace. The event will demystify the acquisitions process and convey the excitement and pressure of this annual event. Leading players in TV distribution and acquisitions will explore both the marketing and buying process, examine emerging trends and spill the beans on what happens behind-the-scenes at the LA Screenings.


The Panel:

  • Rebecca Segal, Senior Vice President, Sky
  • David Smyth, Head of Acquisitions, Sky One, Two and Three
  • Distributor – Tom Toumazis, Executive Vice President & Managing Director, EMEA and Canada, Disney-ABC International Television
  • Chair – Heather Jones, Executive Vice President, Director of Television, MTV Networks


There will also be an opportunity to see two of the top shows from this year's LA Screenings. Before the panel discussion there will be a screening of Dirty Sexy Money starring Peter Krause and Donald Sutherland.  After the panel discussion, there will be a second screening chosen by RTS Futures Members.  Both screenings are optional and seats in the Channel 4 cinema are limited. You will need to arrive early to ensure you get a seat.

 

You chose

After the panel we will be showing a second pilot in the Channel 4 cinema, but it's up to you to decide which one we see. The choices are between Journeyman and Pushing Daisies and you can watch the trailers in our Screening Room. To vote for which one you'd like to see at the event just post a comment below with your choice.

Just to clarify - Dirty Sexy Money will definitely be shown at the event, voting is just between Journeyman and Pushing Daisies for the second showing.

Pushing Daisies is now pulling ahead, with 7 votes to 6, but it's still all to play for!
